A veteran of seven big league seasons, Bolger played for the Reds, Cubs, Indians and Phillies from 1950-1959. Bolger hit just six total home runs in his major league career but, as he notes on his questionnaire, one of them was a particularly big one as he connected on a long ball when called on to pinch hit for Ernie Banks. Bolger played 112 games for the Cubs in 1957, hitting five of those six career home runs. His 29 RBI and 28 runs scored were also career highs.
