The 1958 American League Rookie of the Year, Pearson spent nine years in the majors, playing for three teams in the process. A career .270 hitter, Pearson hit .275 for the Senators in 1958, scoring 63 runs and driving in 33. Those numbers were good enough for Rookie of the Year honors that season. His best year came in 1963 when he was playing for the Los Angeles Angels. He hit .304 that season, scoring 92 runs and stealing 17 bases. He earned his lone trip to the All-Star game and finished 14th in MVP voting.
