Valentinetti pitched in 108 big league games for five different teams from 1954-1959. He finished his career with a 13-14 mark and a 4.73 ERA. The best year of his career was 1956 when he went 6-4 with a save and a 3.78 ERA for the Chicago Cubs. He pitched in 42 games that season, a career high, with 40 of those appearances coming in relief. Besides the Cubs, Valentinetti pitched for the White Sox, Indians, Tigers and Senators.
