
An infielder, Cole played six years in the big leagues for three different teams, mostly the Pittsburgh Pirates. Mostly a reserve, Cole did have one season where he started for the Pirates. He played 138 games in 1954, hitting .270 in the process. The season marked his career highs in almost every offensive category. The next season his average dropped to .226 and he only got into 77 games for Pittsburgh. Two years after that he played his final season with the Milwaukee Braves.
Cole currently works for the San Francisco Giants.
