Hedlund went 25-24 over a six-year major-league run. He came up as an 18-year old for the Cleveland Indians in 1965 but only appeared in six games before returning to the minor leagues. He saw action in three games for the Tribe in 1967 before joining the Kansas City Royals in 1969. Hedlund was fantastic for the Royals in 1971, going 15-8 with a 2.71 ERA in 205.2 innings. However, the next year his ERA jumped to 4.78 and by 1973 he was back in the minor leagues, never to return to the majors.
Hedlund’s survey is one of the best and most complete I have ever gotten back. As you will notice, he even goes so far as to compliment the groundskeeper at the old Kansas City Municipal Stadium. Enjoy!
