
Meoli spent six seasons in the big leagues, between the years 1971-1979. He came up with the California Angels in 1971, but appeared in just seven games. After spending 1972 in the minors, he was back with the Angels in 1973. He was the team’s starting shortstop for most of the season, playing in 120 games and hitting .223 with both of his career home runs. He spent the next two years with California before returning to the minor leagues for three years. He was back in the big leagues in 1978 with the Chicago Cubs. He played in 30 games for the Philadelphia Phillies in 1979 which would be his final year in pro ball. Meoli hit .212 in 310 games for his career.
