Sadek served as the San Francisco Giants backup catcher from 1975-1981, hitting .226 with five home runs in 383 big league games. He came up in 1973 and appeared in 39 games for San Francisco, but spent the 1974 season in the minor leagues. He returned to the Giants in 1975 and stayed for the next seven seasons. He never appeared in more than 64 games, a number he reached in 1980.
Sadek mentions J.R. Richard as one of the toughest pitchers he ever faced. We featured him on March 2 of this year. I find his answer to question five particularly touching as baseball is so often a game shared by fathers with their children.
