In his eight big league seasons he played for the Atlanta Braves, Cubs, Oakland A’s and Angels.
While Garrett was never able to find success in the big leagues, he actually had a long and productive professional baseball career that lasted close to 20 years and spanned multiple continents. He hit 280 home runs in the minor leagues, 102 home runs in Japan and 31 more while playing in the Venezuelan Winter League. Following his playing career he served as a minor league hitting instructor for the Cincinnati Reds.
