
Wade appeared in 19 games for the Chicago Cubs during the 1955-1956 seasons. He had 45 at bats and six hits. He hit one home run. His professional career spanned from 1947-1961 with his best year coming in 1956 when he hit .292 with 20 home runs for the Cubs’ affiliate in Los Angeles.
Wade started in center field and led off for the Cubs on opening day 1955 as Chicago took on the Cincinatti Reds at Crosley Field. Wade drew a walk in five plate appearances. The Cubs won the game 7-5.
Wade is currently one of the 100-oldest-living baseball players.
