
Willis pitched in 27 big-league games for the Chicago Cubs between 1953 and 1954. He made three starts for the Cubs in 1953, going 2-1 with a 3.12 ERA. He started just one game in 1954 and did not get a win, despite a respectable 3.91 ERA. Willis career record stands at 2-2 with a 3.39 ERA and 20 strikeouts in 66.1 innings of work. His professional career lasted from 1949-1957. He won 16 games for the Shreveport Sports in the Texas League in 1952.
Willis is currently one of the 100-oldest-living ballplayers.
