
Roberge pitched for six years in the big leagues, going 12-12 with 10 saves and a 3.98 ERA. He came up with the Houston Astros in 1979 and appeared in 26 games, getting his first three wins in the process. He continued to make sporadic appearances for Houston though the 1982 season. He joined the Chicago White Sox for 21 games in 1984, then went to the Montreal Expos in 1985. He saw action in 42 games that seasons, winning three games and saving two. Roberge pitched one more season for Montreal before calling it quits in 1986.
On August 15, 1982 at Riverfront Stadium in Cincinnati, Roberge, pitching for Houston, entered a 7-3 game in the bottom of the ninth inning in relief of Mike LaCoss. There were two outs, but the bases were loaded and Hall of Famer Johnny Bench was at the plate. As he notes, Roberge fanned Bench to save the game for the Astros.
