Mike Paxton

1980 Topps

Paxton went 30-24 with a 4.71 ERA in four years spent with the Boston Red Sox and Cleveland Indians. He broke in with Boston and won 10 games as a rookie in 1977. He was traded to the Tribe following the season and won 12 games for them in 1978. He saw his ERA jump to 5.92 in 1979 and soon found himself out of the big leagues. Paxton continued to pitch in the minors through 1981, after which he retired.

We featured Paxton’s favorite teammate, Andre Thornton, last year.
