
Bedell played in 67 games for the Milwaukee Braves and Philadelphia Phillies in 1962 and 1968. He hit .193 and did not have a home run. Most of Bedell’s MLB playing time came for the Braves in 1962. He appeared in 58 games for Milwaukee and hit .196 while scoring 15 runs. He played in just nine games for the Phillies in 1968 and hit .143. His minor league career stretched from 1957-1969 and saw him routinely hit over .300.
Bedell’s career in professional baseball lasted until 1991. He went on to coach for the Kansas City Royals and Seattle Mariners. He was a minor league manager in the Phillies and Colorado Rockies systems. He also worked in the front office of the Royals, Mariners, Phillies and Cincinnati Reds.
