Mirabella pitched in 298 games during a 13-year career that spanned from 1978-1990. He saw action with the Texas Rangers, New York Yankees, Toronto Blue Jays, Baltimore Orioles, Seattle Mariners and Milwaukee Brewers. In his career, he was 19-29 with 13 saves and a 4.45 ERA. Most of Mirabell’s appearances came in relief. He did make 22 starts for the Blue Jays in 1980 and went 5-12 with a 4.34 ERA. The best year of his career arguably came in 1988 with the Brewers. He had two wins and four saves and a 1.65 ERA in 38 games for Milwaukee that season.
Mirabella made his major league debut on July 28, 1978 for the Rangers in Chicago against the White Sox. He started for Texas that day and pitched 7.2 innings, picking up the win in a 9-5 Rangers’ victory.
