Bud Anderson

Anderson pitched in 64 games for the Cleveland Indians in 1982 and 1983. He went 4-10 with a 3.68 ERA and seven saves while making six starts. He pitched in the minors from 1977-1985.


The final game of Carl Yastrzemski’s storied career came on October 2, 1983 at Fenway Park in Boston. Anderson was on the hill to start the game for Cleveland and he faced Yastrzemski twice. He got him to ground out to second base in the second inning and then surrendered a single to him in the third. It would be the 3,419th and final hit of the Hall of Famer’s career. Boston went on to win the game 3-1.
