
Knudson pitched for eight seasons in the majors, breaking in with the Houston Astros in 1985 and finishing with the Colorado Rockies in 1993. In 121 games he posted a 24-29 career record with a 4.72 ERA. He spent most of his career with the Milwaukee Brewers and it was with the Brewers that he had his best year which was 1990. Knudson won 10 games that season, while throwing a career high 168.1 innings. He pitched two shutouts and had a 4.12 ERA.

Knudson’s two shutouts came in July of 1990. He threw his first one against the Oakland A’s on July 13, then did it again to the Red Sox on July 23. In between he beat the California Angels, for a nice three-game win streak.
