Baseball Assistance Team

Believe it or not, the majority of the baseball players who played in the 1950’s, 1960’s and 1970’s did not earn enough money so that they would be set for life. In fact, most of them worked other jobs in the off-season just to help pay the bills while they were playing. In order to help those former ballplayers who might need financial assistance, Major League Baseball set up the Baseball Assistance Team, a charity who’s goal is to “help members of the baseball family who have come on hard times and are in need of assistance.” If you would like to donate, or to find more information on the B.A.T., you can get it here.
